3-D laser scanning / digitizing.

Digitizing can give you a better visualization of a product when CAD models are not available.  Laser Abilities can quickly scan in your part or object and can give you a surfaced image that can be viewed and rotated with a wide range of software.

Reverse Engineering or CAD file generation can be completed rapidly by giving you a CAD model of a modified part, casting, mold, stamping, etc.  Many times older tools and parts were not generated from CAD files, or mock ups are made and need to be drawn into a CAD system for manufacturing.  This can be done quickly and accurately.

Laser Abilities uses state of the art equipment for a completely portable system to meet all laser scanning needs.  Scanning of Tools, Molds, soft parts, hard parts, stampings, castings, patterns, plastic parts, clay models, foam shapes, and many more are readily scanned for multiple end uses.

The point cloud is converted to Polygons which can be saved as .STL or converted to CAD models
CAD to Part inspections.
By overlaying the scanned "point cloud" of data over the original CAD file, an easy to read detailed color map of the parts will show where parts are and are not within design specification.  No more interpretation of X, Y, Z coordinates of single point data methods. Tooling and part validations can be done accurately by comparing scan data with CAD models for article approval submissions and acceptance.  Cross sections, 2-D dimensioning, and GD&T are all available when needed as well.  This data is invaluable in seeing the full affects on part shrinkage, warpage, springback, boundry edges, deformation, and fit into other assemblies.
